In this 90 minute songwriting workshop we will start with creativity and then move to craft. We’ll spend some time with writing prompts. We’ll share what we’ve written and talk about how we might start a lyric. We will also take a closer look at one of the tools of the craft: melody. How can we build a melody that feels fresh and new? How can we add forward motion to our melodies? Have something to write with and your instrument.
Cosy Sheridan first appeared on the national folk scene in 1992 when she won the songwriting contests at The Kerrville Folk Festival and The Telluride Bluegrass Festival. The Boston Globe wrote: ”she is now being called one of the best new singer/songwriters”.
